Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before booking our moving, packing, or storage services.
Last Updated: August 2025
1. Acceptance of Terms
By scheduling a move, accepting an estimate, paying a deposit, or using any services provided by Zoar Enterprises LLC (“Zoar Moving Services,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you (“Customer,” “Client,” or “you”) agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please contact us prior to your scheduled move date.
2Estimates, Pricing & Additional Services
All quotes and estimates generated online or provided over the phone are formulated based on the inventory details, access conditions (stairs, elevators, carry distances), and move parameters provided by the client:
- Non-Binding & Hourly Estimates: Unless a signed written binding flat-rate agreement is in effect, local moves are billed based on the actual crew time, travel time, and materials used.
- Inventory Discrepancies: If actual inventory or items to be moved significantly exceed the initial list provided at the time of quote, rates and estimated time may be adjusted accordingly.
- Specialty Handling: Items exceeding standard handling capacities (such as upright/grand pianos, heavy gun safes, heavy commercial equipment, or marble slabs) require advance notice and may carry specialized equipment fees.
3Booking, Rescheduling & Cancellation
We understand that closing dates and lease timelines can shift unexpectedly:
- Rescheduling: Moves can be rescheduled at no extra charge if notice is provided at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled start window, subject to crew and truck availability.
- Cancellations: Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice before arrival may be subject to a standard dispatch cancellation fee to cover reserved crew scheduling.
4Customer Responsibilities
To ensure a fast and damage-free moving experience, the customer is responsible for:
- Securing parking permits, elevator reservations, and loading dock access at both the origin and destination addresses.
- Ensuring driveways, walkways, and stairs are cleared of snow, ice, vehicles, and tripping hazards.
- Transporting personal high-value valuables (cash, fine jewelry, passports, vital documents, firearms, prescription medicines) personally.
- Hazardous Materials: Flammables, gasoline, propane tanks, paint, chemicals, fireworks, and perishable foods cannot legally or safely be transported in moving trucks.
5Valuation, Damage Claims & Liability
Zoar Moving handles all items with superior care, furniture padding, and heavy-duty shrink wrap:
- Standard Carrier Liability: Included at no extra charge in accordance with transportation regulations ($0.60 per pound per item).
- Self-Packed Boxes: We are not liable for internal damage to items inside boxes packed by the customer unless external physical damage to the box caused by our crew is evident.
- Pre-Existing Damage: Our team may conduct a walkthrough to document pre-existing scratches, structural instability, or pressboard/particle board wear prior to handling.
- Filing a Claim: Any claims for loss or damage must be submitted in writing with photos within 14 days of move completion.
6Payment Terms
Final payment is due immediately upon the completion of the move at the destination address before our crew departs. We accept major credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and certified funds.
7Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
